If you have seen any of my other posts then you already know my love for parking lot locations.
I love seeing what magic we can capture in an unassuming location. When we parked, I saw this pretty brick wall covered in greenery and the blooming dogwood in-front, and new this spot would be perfect.
My sweet senior Madison and her mom were so trusting and didn’t question me at all when I suggested we start her session here. I’d like to say their trust paid off and I couldn’t be more pleased with how these turned out.
We did the latter half of Madison’s session in downtown Abingdon Virginia, we went on a weeknight so the traffic was minimal and we were blessed with so many gorgeous blooming trees and flowers,
I hope you enjoy looking at some of my favorites from Madison’s spring session and a special thanks to my sweet senior and her mom, I had the best time hanging out with y’all, and I am so honored I got to photograph this special time for Madison.
Onto the blog…

I’m from Tennessee and my senior client is from Ohio, so how in the world did we end up in Arizona for her senior session?
Well, a short answer would be, it’s a small world.
But if you know me, you know I’m not one for short answers lol……..
My sweet friend from Arizona, who also happens to be my brother-in-law’s sister, asked me to be one of her bridesmaids in her March wedding. She also asked her fiancé’s sister, Adelaide, to be a bridesmaid. It just so happened that Adelaide was graduating from high school and she really wanted me to do her photos at the time.
When she found out that I was going to be in the wedding as well she reached out and asked if we could possibly do her senior session in AZ, since we’d both be there anyway.
I obviously agreed and was thrilled that the timing of it all worked out.
Adelaide told me in the booking process, that her dream photo session location would have snow and pine trees, but she also loved the desert look of Phoenix.
Well, I like to think that I make all my client’s dreams come true, but I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how we were going to accomplish that request.
BUT
It just so happened that our mutual friend/sister-in-law, planned her bachelorette party in Flagstaff, AZ a week before her wedding, so both Adelaide and I were able to attend.
So of course I brought my camera and Adelaide and I left the party for a couple hours one morning to take her senior portraits!
It hadn’t snowed for a couple weeks in Flagstaff, so we had the idea to drive all the way up to Arizona Snowball Ski Resort, where we found the perfect photo spot, in the parking lot.
Yup you read that right, we did all these snow pictures in a parking lot 😁!
We then stopped at this open field/rest stop on the way back.
After the wedding took place in Phoenix, we were able to accomplish Adelaide’s second request, and photographed her in the stunning Phoenix desert.
I still can’t quite believe we were able to get two completely different locations and seasons all within a week.
Nonetheless, I am so grateful it all worked out beautifully, and I am beyond honored that Adelaide chose me to capture her dream photo session. (also shout out to my friend, Beth for getting married: without you this session probably wouldn’t have happened).
If you made it this far reading, YOU ARE AMAZING. Thanks for being here and I hope you enjoy the rest of this blog!!!

I love it when my SAP Seniors book different season sessions. Anna’s favorite season is autumn so we met and did her first session on top of Carver’s Gap in Roan Mountain, TN. We then met the next spring to do her cap and gown portraits at her high school.
I had so much fun getting to know Anna and capturing her joyful personality.
I hope you enjoy looking at Anna’s session in the mountains and her spring session in Greeneville, TN.
Onto the blog!….
